Egypt's achievements

New Administrative Capital

New Cairo capital city is located 35 KM east of Cairo of a total area of 170,000 feddan. The new capital city lies between the regional ring road, the Cairo-Suez road and Cairo-El Ain El Sokhna road. The new capital city will help to strengthen and diversify the country’s economic potential by creating new places to live, work and visit. In order to draw people to this new capital city, a series of key catalyst developments will be established at its core. This will include a new government administrative district, a cultural district and a wide variety of urban neighbourhoods.



Suez Canal

The Suez Canal ( In Arabic: Qanat as-Suways ), is an artificial sea-level waterway running north to south across the Isthmus of Suez in Egypt to connect the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea. The canal separates the African continent from Asia, and it provides the shortest maritime route between Europe and the lands lying around the Indian and western Pacific oceans. It is one of the world's most heavily used shipping lanes.​​ The Suez Canal is one of the most important waterways in the world.



New Alamein

New Alamein lies on the Mediterranean Sea, approximately 85 km west of Borg El Arab International Airport. Still under construction, New Alamein was conceived by the Egyptian government as a center for tourism, education, and government. The city has its own presidential palace and ministry building.



Streets and Bridges

Tens of thousands of kilometers built by Egypt in the past few years as part of the national road network project adopted by the Ministry of Transport, to link the governorates and cities of the new republic that Egypt is building within Egypt's 2030 strategy.

Every week, President El-Sisi inspects the progress of the ongoing works with a number of new road network projects, given their importance in the development of Egypt. Thanks to the road and bridge projects that have been implemented in recent years, Egypt has jumped 90 places in the international competitiveness index in the field of road quality, to 28th from 118th.
